As a higher education establishment, the Ecole du Louvre participates in scientific research in the domain of the history of art through its third cycle courses.
It also brings together every year, in the context of international conventions, of the Ecole du Louvre, professors and students from other French and foreign universities, to discuss multidisciplinary research topics in the history of art.
Moreover, every year the Ecole du Louvre organises international colloquia in partnership with other institutions. These events, entitled "Encounters at the Ecole du Louvre", unite researchers, academics and curators around an original theme or highly specialist topics, which may be linked to current museographics and/or current research issues. Records of the colloquia are published.
In the perspective of disseminating research, the Ecole occasionally organises conferences and special study days.
The Ecole du Louvre also participates in the Board of Directors and the Editing Committee for the Histoire of Art review, published under the aegis of the Association of University Professors of Archaeology and History of Art with as its vocation, disseminating the publications of young researchers.
